Global recorded music revenue in 2025, an eleventh straight year of growth

IFPI put 2025 revenues at $31.7 billion, up 6.4 per cent, with streaming at 69.6 per cent of the total and 837 million paid subscription accounts.

The IFPI Global Music Report published on 18 March 2026 puts global recorded music revenue for 2025 at $31.7 billion, up 6.4 per cent year on year and the eleventh consecutive year of growth. It is the first time the figure has passed $30 billion.

Streaming accounted for more than $22 billion, or 69.6 per cent of the global total. Paid subscription alone grew 8.8 per cent and made up 52.4 per cent of all revenue, across 837 million paid subscription accounts worldwide, up from 752 million.

Every region grew. Latin America was fastest at 17.1 per cent, with the Middle East and North Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa both at 15.2 per cent.
