Where to submit a music video, and what each one charges

Four outlets that actually publish their submission rules, with the fees, the runtime limits and the one that closed its doors this year.

A handful of sites drive most of the coverage independent music videos get. All four below publish their rules, which is more than can be said for most of the industry. Checked 10 September 2026.

Promonews — no submission fee

The submit page asks only that you "tell us about your new video using the form below", collecting artist, title, video URL, stills and full production credits. No fee is stated anywhere on that page. Its paid membership, Promonews PRO, is £9.99 a month, £24.99 a quarter or £99 a year, and includes "priority getting submitted work on Promonews". The site is edited by David Knight, who also curates BUG at BFI Southbank.

Directors Notes — £47

Accepts live action, documentary, animation, music videos, art and fashion, branded content and dance films of any length. £47 for work under 40 minutes, £77 for features, non-refundable, submitted through FilmFreeway. Passwords are accepted for unreleased work, the curation team responds within seven working days, and accepted films enter the annual WeAreDN Awards at no extra cost.

Directors' Library — membership only

Submission requires a membership valid for twelve months from purchase, strictly non-refundable. The eligibility rules are the tightest of the four: nothing over 40 minutes, no works in progress or trailers, and only work released online within the past two months. No individual feedback is offered, and outcomes are notified within about ten working days.

Booooooom TV — closed

Takes short films, animation and music videos for a non-refundable fee, reviewed within five business days, or eight if you pay for feedback, which is the only way to receive any. As of today the site states that submissions are currently closed for a redesign, and the fee is not displayed, so we cannot quote it.

The order that makes sense

Promonews first, because it costs nothing and reaches the people who commission videos. Directors' Library next if the video came out in the last two months, since that window closes fast and nothing else on this list has it. Directors Notes when the work can carry a £47 bet. Watch Booooooom for reopening.
